Cloth Hall Walking Stick

 This walking stick is made out of wood souvenired from the Cloth Hall at Ypres after it was destroyed by bombing. The handle is made from a bit of propeller from a German plane and a French coin. It is engraved with the words “Charlie to Father”. Charles Begg and his father came from Anderson’s Bay in Dunedin. (1983.799)
