A WWI souvenir sweetheart brooch, attributed to WO2 T.W Cross of the Wellington Infantry Battalion. These keepsakes came in a varied range of designs and this example is said to be made from gun metal and copper. Sweetheart brooches were gifted by soldiers to mothers, sisters, daughters, wives or girlfriends at home.
