Bullets and Brushes - An Artist’s View of World War II

Bullets & Brushes – An Artist’s View of World War II commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the end of the war in Europe in May 1945.

This art exhibition takes the public through the 2nd New Zealand Division’s WWII campaigns from embarkation, Egypt, Greece, Crete, North Africa, Italy and the Pacific. All the artworks are from the Museum’s own collection (over 30) and feature the soldier artist, official artist and contemporary artist.

It also features examples of WWII trench/battle art made by the soldiers from the Museum’s Social History Collection.
