This German trench knife, carried by specialist Strosstruppe (Shock Troops) who were members of the Sturmkompanien (Assault Companies), was taken during the Battle of the Somme. The original wooden grip has been carved and features an intricate Māori design. The knife comes with a matching leather scabbard.
