Florence Nightingale Medal

This Florence Nightingale Medal was awarded to a nurse who saw service in Malaya with the Queen Elizabeth’s Colonial Nursing Service. The Florence Nightingale Medal instituted on 16 May 1912 was bestowed on nurses who distinguished themselves by special devotion to, and nursing of, the sick and wounded in war and peace. We are proud to have it on display in our Medal Repository at the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa.
