MedalsThe National Army Museum provides a medal repository service to the public, primarily for medals associated with the New Zealand Army. This service allows for all medals awarded to service men and women. The medals are donated to the Museum and subsequently housed in the repository.

One of the services the Museum offers to the public is supervised access to the Medal Repository. Members of the public can view donated family medals while visiting the Museum. To ensure quick and easy access, it is preferred that prior notice is given of your intended visit.

Temporary Display

  • Donated Medals (display changes weekly)
  • NZ Gallantry and Bravery Awards

Permanent Display

  • British Campaign and General Service Medals
  • Campaign and General Service Medals awarded to New Zealanders
  • United Nations and Commemorative Medals
  • Meritorious Service, Long Service, Efficient Service Decorations and Medals Orders, Decorations and Medals
  • Foreign Medals (a selection only)
